Seide – Halep ibrişimi

According to a European expert, based on what can be observed from the photographs, this carpet is made of pure silk with brocade patterns created using metal-wrapped threads. Its dimensions are approximately 250 x 150 cm, and its weight is 1.7 kg. If the silk backing is disregarded, the weight of the fabric would be even lower. The texture of the carpet is stiff and brittle, and its motifs are primitive.

This carpet, with its candlesticks in the mihrab, is an intriguing piece. Despite its wear, tears, and stains, I deeply loved this carpet, which inspired me to research the characteristics of the relevant period and sit down at my writing desk. Perhaps its mystery captured my interest—I’m not sure. What I do know is that the value of this unique carpet is priceless. I can almost hear my grandmother’s voice: “Silk, pure silk.”

Ein Aleppo Kelim ist traditionell ein handgewebter Textilien, der seinen Ursprung in der syrischen Stadt Aleppo hat. Diese Stadt war jahrhundertelang ein bedeutendes Zentrum für den Handel mit Textilien, und die dort hergestellten Kilime waren für ihre hohe Qualität und kunstvollen Muster bekannt.

Kilimi ilk gördüğümde heyecanlandım, çünkü maviyi severim. Mavinin tonu bana Selçuklu sanatını çağrıştırdı. Bilgi ve öngörülerine güvendiğim bir halıcıya birkaç fotoğraf ilettim. Kilimi görmesi gerektiğini söylerken Halep işi olasılığını dile getirdi. Kilim, mihraptaki şamdanlarıyla ilginç bir parça. İlgili dönem özelliklerini araştırıp yazı masasına oturmama vesile olan bu dokumayı sevdim. Belki de gizemi ilgimi çekti, bilemiyorum. Bildiğim bu eşi benzeri bulunmayan kilimin değerine paha biçilemez olduğu. Babaannemin sesini duyar gibiyim. ‚İpek, safi ipek‘
